We have our first entry!

I was looking at this journal, about a contest, and I thought... "Brilliant idea! I'll make one similar! Though, scoring, and all the rules are going to be different. I do hope people join, so tell your friends. ANYone is able to join. Prizes will be decided on later. This is more of a "Lets get to know your character" thing, anyway.

Ok, that brings us to the main contest idea. This will be a Pokémon Original POKÉMON character contest. Only Pokémon characters count. As for who all is considered a Pokémon, see the guidlines.

Guidelines:
These will not guarantee a win, but if you follow them, you're a LOT more likely to.

A.) What is considered a Pokémon?
Any Nintendo-made Pokémon, from ANY generation, Most hybrids, Pokémorphs only in their Pokémon form, and created Pokémon (or Fake-mon) are allowed. Nothing else. I reserve the right to deny entry, if needed.

B.) You may enter more than once, but ONLY ONCE per character.

C.) There are a lot of things considered for judging. It's done this way so everyone has a chance.
10% Artistic skill (You can suck at art, and still win)
20% Artistic effort
25% Originality of appearance
45% Development of background (The more creativity, the better.)

D.) Before people ask, YES, you may use Characters you've made before. HOWEVER! You MUST make a NEW picture of your character. I'll go on the honor system on that one, but if I get reports of, or see, these pictures ANYWHERE else on the 'Net, you're disqualified. It's just not fair to others if you have a picture already made.

E.) The deadline will be set if I get at least 5 entries.

F.) "If you don't know English very well, don't worry. That will not hinder your chances of winning. Try your best to think of a profile of your character. Be original! Try not to go with clichés like a perfect, all-powerful Pokémon, or an average Pokémon. I don't mind if your character likes maybe ONE canon character, but don't make them perfect in any way. Characters always have a flaw, or flaws. Personality for sure. Maybe they have a hobby, perhaps a passion? Think of anything you can!" --Taken and re-worded from ~myris's contest journal. The same goes for this contest. If your Pokémon Character is perfect, It'll be disqualified. Be original! ANY background is acceptable. No matter how absurd.

Note: Not everyone understands this, apparently, but when I say "background" I don't mean of the picture. I mean of the Pokémon Character themself. How did they get to where they are now? What event caused them to become who they are now?

G.) Entries should be given to me through a devNote*. It must have at least these sections in the artist notes.

* I reserve the right to accept entries in any other way, and judge them any way I see fit.
** If this is a hybrid, put the species/types that combine to create the species as well. Ex: Stormic (Pikachu + Squirtle)
*** Background must have at least a GOOD paragraph to be considered a full score. I'll accept less, but I'd prefer two paragraphs. It all depends on word choice.

UPDATE: Deadline is now whenever you want to turn yours in. I'll set a specific date if I get enough people wanting to do this. If not, it'll be a minor thing.

PS: It would be awesome if I had themed entries, but they aren't necessary.
